Working to improve pass percentage: ZEO Bishnupur

Nongthombam Chingkhei Singh, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Zone-IV Bishnupur has emphasised that the government is doing its best to improve the overall pass percentage of class X and XII students along with enhancing the learning ability of all students.
Addressing a press meet held at DC Bishnupur Mini Secretariat Complex, on Thursday, Chingkhei stated that in 2022 the overall pass percentage of students in the district in class X and XII exams was 68.3 per cent and 98.9 per respectively.
This year, a total of 3450 students including 1756 girls from 30 government, seven government-aided and 55 private schools of the district will appear in class X examination.
Similarly, a total of 2230 students including 1183 girls from the district will sit for the class XII examination, he added.
Chingkhei also informed that the district has two residential government high schools and hostels for students of class X namely, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Thamnapokpi and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Awashiya Vidyalaya, Laingoubi and government approved hostels at Ngaikhong High School and also at Moirang Konjengbam Leikai.
He also informed that remedial coaching classes are being conducted under the aegis of education minister for 100 select government school students from each district with an aim to bring out toppers.
The coaching classes for class XII students are underway at CC Higher Secondary School and Mekola Gulap Higher Secondary School and for students of class X at Lamboi Khongnangkhong.
The press conference was also attended by AI A Gu-namani, programme officer L Brojendro, DI Moirang M Meghachandra, AI K Chan-drakumar and AI S Bojen.
