Zeliangrong bodies hail truce pact

The Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Nagaland, Manipur), All Zeliangrong Students' Union (AZSU-AMN), Zeliangrong Youth Front (AMN) and other Zeliangrong leaders have expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, IB team leaders, Chief Minister N Biren Singh and other officials of the State for signing the Cessation Of Operation agreement with the Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) on December 27 at New Delhi.
A joint statement issued by Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN), Zeliangrong Baudi (N), AZSU (AMN) and ZYF (AMN) expressed hope that the signing of the Cessation of Operation agreement will mark the beginning of resolving Zeliangrong political issues.
CR Zeliang, former president of Zeliangrong Baudi (N) and current advisor extended his gratitude to the Government of India and Chief Minister N Biren Singh on behalf of the organisations, the statement added.
Further he impressed upon the officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Government of Manipur to expedite the official dialogue with the Government of India to fulfill the political aspirations of the Zeliangrong people to live under one administrative unit.
The statement also expressed appreciation to ZUF officials and the Front for keeping the Zeliangrong People's Convention (ZPC) movement alive.
