Injured man succumbs; UZO warns stir

Imphal, December 28 2022:
One Paumuanlian (23), son of late Khamsuanmuan of Maullum village, who was found injured in between Buallian and Mata villages in Churachandpur district, succumbed at Churachandpur District Hospital on Wednesday.
According to police, one Khupzachin reported that his nephew Paumuanlian was found injured by two unknown people between Buallian and Mata village and dropped him at the district hospital casualty department around 8.36 am on Wednesday.
Unfortunately, the injured person succumbed to his injuries.
Subsequently, a case has been registered for investigation, it added.
Meanwhile, United Zou Organisation (UZO), the apex body of Zou tribe, in a release, lamented the unnatural death of Paumuanlian, while describing it as a gruesome murder.
While stating that Paumuanlian was found unconscious with grievous injuries on his body between Buallian and Mata, the release denounced such barbaric act perpetrated by some unknown miscreant (s) and said this has outraged the sentiments of the entire Zou populace, as it is not the first unfortunate incident that befell on the Zou community.
A member of the same community namely Lammuanthang, son of (L) T Tualkholam of T Daijang village was brutally murdered on the December 17 at Vaalveng, it recalled.
While the Zou community is striving towards lasting peace and stability, to bring about a life of dignity and the shared purpose of peaceful coexis tence and respectful relationship with other communities, such inhumane and diabolical act negates the very aspiration of the general populace and so it ought to-be out rightly condemned by all right thinking citizens, UZO maintained and appealed to the district administration especially the law enforcement agency to nab the culprit(s) on or before 6 PM of the December 30 failing which the organisation would be forced to resort to any means of agitation available at their disposal to get justice for the victim.
