Dingo inaugurates Model Career Centre

Skills, Labour, Employment and Entrepreneurship (SLEE) Minister Heikham Dingo inaugurated a Model Career Centre cum Mega Job Fair at the office of Employment Exchange at Lamphelpat, today.
Speaking as the chief guest, Dingo Singh emphasised on making the Employment Exchange office a model career centre which provides all sorts of information pertaining to employment to unemployed youth.
The Minister sought support from all to make the Directorate of Employment Exchange more comprehensive and provide valuable information on career counselling, apprenticeship and job opportunity to youth.
Saying that no improvement is seen at the office of Employment Exchange, Imphal West since the past many years, Dingo said that he will hold a discussion with the staff concerned to improve the infrastructure and manpower at the office.
Saying that he would want to bring some changes in the Directorate of Employment while he is SLEE Minister, the Minister continued that he will apprise Chief Minister N Biren Singh to declare the result of recruitment examination of the Directorate at Lamphelpat as soon as possible.
Additional Director of Employment Th Subhashkumar said that the Mega Job Fair is being held as per the instruction given by the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Government of India on December 14 last.
He said that the objective of the fair is to provide a common platform to job providers and job seekers for placements and other benefits.
Saying that the portal Prime Minister Narendra Modi National Career Service (NCS) launched in 2015 is the largest single portal in the country, Subhashkumar continued that the people can access the portal at www.ncs.gov.in and see the list of job providers and seekers.
He appealed to all concerned to register themselves at NCS too.
On the Model Career Centre, Subashkumar said that there is an instruction from the Central Government to establish a Model Career Centre for every Employment Exchange office and so far the country has established 400 Model Career Centres.
He further stated that the Centre has approved a proposal to grant Rs 47 lakh to the career centre at Lamphelpat.
Secretary of SLEE B John Tlangtinkhuma also attended the programme.
Later, H Dingo inspected the stalls set up at the site of the job fair.
