The event was also used as a platform for discussion of issues related to recruitment rally, security, drug abuse, cooperation between the locals and the Armed Forces, etc.
Meanwhile, Joupi Battalion of IGAR (South) on Wednesday distributed 10 water storage tanks (500 litres) at Khengjoi village in Chandel district under Assam Rifles' Civic Action Programme.
The initiative was taken up to mitigate the difficulties being faced by the villagers as Khengjoi village is located along the Indo-Myanmar Border and is devoid of water storage facility.
Speaking on the occasion, village headman lauded the efforts of Assam Rifles towards uplifting the standard of living of people in the region and hoped that it would foster the bond between security forces and local populace further, added the PRO.
