Two from Moreh shot dead in Myanmar

Moreh, July 05 2022:
Two auto rickshaw drivers from Moreh belonging to Tamil community were shot dead by unknown persons at Tamu Ward No 10, near Buddhist Temple, Myanmar around 12:30 pm Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as P Mohon (27), son of (L) Perumal of Moreh Ward No 2 and M Iyanar (28), son of (L) Murga of Moreh Ward No 4 .
It is said that Mohan got married only 15 days back, while Iyanar left behind a one-year-old baby girl and wife.
On hearing report of the killings, most of the shops in Moreh town downed shutters and auto rickshaws ceased operation.
A large number of auto rickshaw drivers parked their vehicles at Sunrise Club playground and waited till late after noon for the bodies to arrive from Myanmar.
After a letter signed by various community leaders of Moreh was submitted to the Moreh police station in connection with the killings, the station's officer notified the Myanmar au thorities and a team was sent to retrieve the bodies.
However, the Myanmar authorities asked them to take back the bodies on Wednesday as gunfight was going on between Myanmar Army and PDF at Panda village and the team had to return back to Moreh without the bodies.
