Training programme on JJM begins

A four-day capacity building training programme (Level-3) for Bishnupur district was organised by Down Town Charity Trust, Assam, which is a Key Resource Centre (KRC) under National Jal Jeevan Mission, at Hotel Anand Continental, Thangal Bazar here on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Jal Jeevan Mission (Capacity Building) director Kh Leena informed that the training programme is being participated by village leaders and PRI representatives, thereby helping to make the Mission a success in all districts of the state.
The programme aims to inform the people at the grassroots level about the mission, teaching the attendees how to repair water pipes, pumps and other problems without contacting the staff of the department concerned.
During the programme, the participants will be made acquainted on use of held testing kit to check the potable levels and how to preserve the water sources in villages.
The inaugural function was also attended by JJM nodal officer Rajkumar Somio, PHED Bishnupur executive engineer Ramboji; ISA team leader W Rockychand and SBM (G) Manipur state consultant Bishken Mutum as the presidium members.
In all, 65 people including village leaders, PRI and representatives of clubs in Bishnupur District are taking part in the residential training programme.
