BJYM says its volunteers unarmed

BJYM Imphal central district president Prem Kshetrimayum has clarified that volunteers of BJYM are unarmed and they did not used any arms or opened fire during an anti drug drive conducted in Kangpokpi area on September 16.According to Prem, the anti-drug drive at Laikot area in Kangpokpi district on September 16 was conducted with police after getting specific information about the presence of drug peddlers in the area.
He said that gun-shot sound was heard when a joint team of BJYM volunteers and police rushed to the area to nab drug peddlers and one person was found injured when the joint team reached the suspected house.
BJYM is unarmed and its president Barish had never indulged in unlawful activity but propaganda is being spread to wrongly portray BJYM to people, Prem said, adding that the anti-drug drive being carried out by BJYM is not targeting any particular community but it is to save the entire society from drug menace.
