Imphal, September 22 2022:
The State Government has directed all school authorities to take attendance of students for each period and make sure all teaching and non teaching staff remain within the school premises during school hours.
In an office memorandum signed by Commissioner of Education (S) H Gyan Prakash, it is said that students wearing uniforms are seen loitering during school hours outside school campuses without school staff which is not safe for the students.
Saying that most school students are below 18 years, the Commissioner of Education (S) requested the Police Department to check licenses of all students seen driving motor vehicles in school uniform.
It also said that each school authority shall issue photo identity cards to all students with relevant details so that the students can be identified easily.
Every Principal and school authority have also been directed to ensure the students don't leave the school campus during school hours without the approval of the Principal/Headmaster concerned.
The memorandum further directed the school authorities to make sure all students wear their school uniforms and photo identity cards while they are in school and for school related activities.
As per the memorandum, the Principal/Headmaster should contact the parents concerned in case any student is not following the guideline.
