Imphal, September 22 2022:
The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Imphal East and Imphal West have condemned the resolution taken by civil society organisations based in Kangpokpi to boycott all activities related with BJP in the district.
Notably, CSOs based in Kangpokpi took the harsh decision a day after a large chunk of the people in Kangpokpi staged a sit-in protest accusing the BJYM of firing at a person on the charge of peddling drugs.
In separate statements, the two units of BJYM said the youth wing of BJP and State police rushed to Kangpokpi on September 16 last after receiving specific inputs about the presence of a drug peddler there.
Claiming that they then cornered one person along with a huge quantity of drugs, the BJYM said that the CSOs based in Kangpokpi resorting to boycott BJP for nabbing a drug peddler was disheartening.
It further claimed that some section of people trying to mislead the youth wing of BJP for supporting the War on Drugs campaign of the State is disappointing.
Saying that the drug peddler has already been handed over to authority concerned and the follow up actions will be taken by the competent authority, the BJYM appealed to the people to not take their activity in the wrong sense.
The BJYM has been carrying out an anti drug drive in different parts of Manipur to support the War on Drugs campaign of the State.
