Imphal, September 22 2022:
Locals of Langkhong Khunou, Kangpokpi district have declared that the village will no longer remain under the administration of Ichum Keirap village.
Informing this during a press meet held at Palace Compound here on Thursday, village elder T Solen said that the decision was taken following the diabolic plot of Ichum Keirap village authority to vacate over 60 households of Langkhong Khunou, who have been living there for over six decades.
Langkhong Khunou has been under the village administration of Ichum Keirap since 1962.During the 1993 ethnic clash, the families took shelter and settled there since then.
The then Governor VK Nayar and Ichum Keirap village chief also granted recognition to the village, he said.
Informing that the village will be free from the administration of Ichum Keirap and will remain under the self-administration of Langkhong Khunou with immediate effect, Solen said that the state government and DC Kangpokpi will be responsible for any unwanted consequences arising out of the issue as they failed to resolve it in time.
