SAPO extends bandh indefinitely

Southern Angami Public Organisation (SAPO) has extended the on-going 'Total Bandh' within southern Angami jurisdiction for an indefinite period with effect from Wednesday midnight.
In a joint release, SAPO president Kevipodi Sophie and general secretary Swelul Pucho informed that the decision to impose the indefinite bandh was taken as the government of Manipur had failed to withdraw its armed personnel and permanent structures from Kezoltsa area within the 72 hours deadline set earlier.
During the indefinite bandh, paramilitary forces on duty, ambulance with patients, press/media, Tenyimi Public Organisation (TPO) executives, unit executives and TPO Board of Arbitrators (BoA) will be exempted on production of valid documents, it said, adding that the indefinite bandh will continue until the demands of SAPO
are met.
