Skill training, awareness programme conducted

A career counselling and awareness programme on "Placement Oriented Skill Training Programme & Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Petrochemicals Sector" was conducted at Sadbhavna Manclap, Parbung in Pherzawl district on Friday.
The programme organised by Pherzawl District Skill Committee and Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) was inaugurated by Tipaimukh MLA Ngursanglur Sanate along with Tipaimukh SDO I Dinesh Kumar.
Speaking at the event, MLA Ngursanglur stressed on the need of imparting skill development in today's age where jobs in the public sector are limited.
Students, parents, unemployed youths and school dropouts attended the programme in large numbers and interacted with CIPET technical officer (Training) Irom Ranjit and Pherzawl Mahatma Gandhi National Fellow (MGNF) Nepoleon Khwairakpam to clear their doubts and concerns.
During the programme, the huge job placement and entrepreneurship opportunity for educated youths and dropouts after completion of their training courses at CIPET were highlighted.
Many in the audience stated that they were unaware that such training courses and programmes fully sponsored by government for economically and socially weaker sections even existed and expressed enthusiasm to get enrolled for such courses.
A career counselling session at Pherzawl High School was also conducted on November 10, apart from the team visiting Tinsuong and Lungthulien to inter act with youth leaders in the community and create awareness of vocational training programmes.
The events were coordinated by MNGF Pherzawl with the support of Pherzawl district administration.
