300 bags of urea seized

Imphal, July 05 2022:
A team of Churachandpur district police on night patrolling duty seized 300 bags of urea fertilizer at Kolmun village area of the district.
According to police report, at about 1:20 am Tuesday the police team detected two Tata trucks (MN04P 0636 & MN05C 2706) loaded with 300 bags of Indian origin fertilizers - Dr Fasal Urea and KRIBHCO Urea - coming along the Tiddim road at Kolmun village area.
On enquiry, the truck drivers identified themselves as Chinthengthang (22), son of Kapmuankap and Chinsuanlam (28), son of Khaikhalian both of Saiboh village under Sangaikot sub-division.
They also revealed that the fertilizers were supposed to be transported to the Myanmar border via the Behiang road.
Further stating that the seized fertilizer consignment was not enlisted in the government supply items, the report informed that same would be handed over to the Customs authority as they were being exported to a foreign country without authorisation.
