Manipur Hawkers' Association celebrates

The 37th annual function of Manipur Hawkers' Association was held on Sunday at Tomchou Higher Secondary School ground, Mayang Imphal near AIR station with deputy speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Kongkham Robindro Singh as chief guest.
The function was also attended by Association's elderly members Wangkhem Ajit Singh and Konsam Ibotomba.
As part of the function, prizes of the state level painting competition organised by the Association on January r were handed over to winners while Kongkham Robindro distributed CMHT cards to newspaper distributors (hawkers) who were left out in the earlier distribution function.
In his speech, Robindro lauded the role of the hawkers in disseminating news to public and promised to extend help to the association at his best level.
Delivering the key note address of the function, Association general secretary L Surjit Singh said that newspaper hawkers of the state rendered their selfless service to the people during COVID-19 pandemic without any fear and thanked the hawkers for their invaluable service.
While reminding that chief minister N Biren had promised to allot a land plot for setting up office of the association in greater Imphal area during the annual function held earlier, Surjit urged deputy speaker K Robindro to help the association in this regard.
He also thanked the government for providing CMHT cards to hawkers.
