Winter crop seeds distributed

Imphal, January 02 2022: Winter crop seeds were distributed to the farmers of Urup and Arapti areas and seeds of winter crops were also sown in the paddy fields of Arapti Mayamgbung Loukol today.

The seed distribution programme was organised by Arapti Urup Farmers Association.

The programme was attended by the Branch Manager of Manipur Rural Bank, Lilong Branch, Hawaibam Sidhartha Singh and Technical Officer, KVK Andro, Dr Sushil as the presidium members.

The winter crop seeds were provided by Agriculture DO , Imphal East district and Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA).

Speaking as the chief guest, H Sidhartha Singh said that it is important to maintain a healthy relation between the farmers and the banks and appealed all to avail the benefits of Government schemes and loans from time to time.

He also appealed all to repay the loans taken from the bank at the appropriate time.

Dr Sushil while addressing the gathering spoke about the Prime Minister's vision of double cropping in 2022 for nation building.

He elaborated about double cropping which will benefit the farmers manifold and also spoke about agriculture and its allied activities.
