Wungpam Raikhan calls for sustainable development of Peh village

Wungpam Raikhan, NPF intending candidate of Chingai AC for the upcoming Manipur Assembly Elections 2022 appealed to the people of Peh village to promote collective and sustainable development of the village economy as a whole instead of pursuing instant benefit for individuals.
Raikhan made the appeal while addressing a valedictory programme of the 20th Peh Martyrs' Memorial Trophy 2021 held on Sunday at Peh village public ground.
Speaking on the occasion, Raikhan who is a retired CPWD Engineer stressed on the need to explore all possible means to avail sufficient water and pump out groundwater to resolve water shortage problem of Peh village.

"Constructing a borewell as per topography of Peh village will be effective in tapping water from ground", he asserted.
He continued that establishing permanent border haats in the region would improve the local economy by creating trade and commerce opportunities for the people.
In regards to the age-old, rich customs of Tangkhul community, Raikhan appealed to the youth to conserve and remember the values left by the ancestors.
Meanwhile, on the final day of the 20th Peh Martyrs' Memorial Trophy 2021, Neo FC became the champion team by defeating Comet FC 3-1 .
A total of six soccer teams from the village participated in the six-day long tournament which began on December 27 last.
The tournament was organised by Nine Star Sports Organisation (NSSO) .
