BJP blowing its own trumpet: Ibobi

Former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has categorically stated that he is sick and tired of BJP blabbering about the improving hills and valley relation during their time.
Speaking to media persons at Sabantongba Mamang Leikai under Thoubal Assembly Constituency after inaugurating one community hall there as the chief guest, O Ibobi continued that he is fed up with BJP accusing Congress of creating animosity between hills and valley people.
Saying that there was good relationship between hills and valley people during the 15 years tenure of the Congress Government too, the CLP leader maintained that he worked to bring inclusive development in the State while he was the Chief Minister.

"Many developmental projects were also implemented in remote areas such as Tipaimukh, Jessami, Tousem, Kasom Khullen etc in the 15 years ", the former Chief Minister said and admitted that there, however, was some bad blood with the NSCN (IM) for banning the entry of Th Muivah in Manipur.
Saying that the ground rules of the ceasefire agreement between the India Government and NSCN (IM) is limited only to Nagaland, O Ibobi maintained that the NSCN-(IM) is displeased with then Congress Government for banning Muivah's entry in Manipur.
The former Chief Minister said that the decision was not personal at all.
Claiming that the NSCN (IM) banned the developmental projects taken up by then Congress Government due to this ill will, the former Chief Minister claimed that the BJP is indulging in cheap politics by depicting Congress in a bad light.
Ibobi also recalled the incident of July 18, 2001 where 18 lives were lost in a protest that erupted over the inclusion of phrase "Without Territorial Limits" in the ceasefire agreement signed between NSCN-(IM) and then BJP led Government.
Claiming that the Centre doesn't give additional benefit to the State for having a BJP led Government here nor will they (the Centre) mistreat the State if Congress comes to power after the 2022 Assembly election, O Ibobi said that the State nonetheless will witness big changes after the election.
Saying that the fate of Manipur cannot be decided by those at Delhi, Ibobi asked the people to compare the developmental works taken up in ACs having Congress and BJP MLAs.
Thoubal Municipal Council Ward no 13 former Councilor Sanasam Ibotombi Singh; Khangabok AC former MLA Okram Landhoni Devi, Thoubal District Congress Committee president Nongmaithem Lukhoi attended the programme among others.
