NPP will emphasize on women empowerment and youth development: Y Joykumar

Deputy CM and NPP National vice president Yumnam Joykumar has stated that the Party will place special emphasis on the issue of women empowerment and youth development.
The statement was made by Y Joykumar at a one-day youth convention held at Kshetri Irilmapal Youth Club ground organised by National People's Youth Front (NPYF), Kshetrigao Unit today.
Speaking as the chief guest, Y Joykumar pointed out the stark difference between political profile from a few years ago to the present and stated that 60% of the voters gearing up to vote in the upcoming election are within the age range of 18-40 years old, well-educated individuals in touch with the burning issues of the day.

He remarked that well-educated young voters of the State are going to bring about a change through the election in various ACs across the State including Kshetrigao AC.
Further, he informed that NPP being a party which originated from the Northeast, always has a regional outlook and the goal to bring about great positive changes in the Northeast region.
The NPP is pouring their efforts into uniting the youth of Northeast and bringing them onto the forefront in the race for development and progress under the common belief of 'One Northeast, one voice'.
He stressed on the importance of developing an agro-based economy to improve the overall economy of the NE.
Regarding AFSPA, the former DGP of Manipur Police stated that with the current improvement of law and order in the State, there is no requirement for the Act anymore.
Further, he added that it is the NPP's solemn vow to demand for the repeal of AFSPA.
