Crackdown on sale of liquor continue, 4 nabbed

Imphal, June 27 2021:
Police continued to crack down on sale of liquor, seizing large quantity of both IMFL and local liquor from different locations and arrested four bootleggers on Sunday.
According to a police report, Imphal West district commando nabbed two individuals near Sekmai Tispari Gas Bottling plant and recovered around 100 bottles of IMFL and other alcoholic beverages as well as 40 litres of DIC liquor around 5:30 pm.
The arrested duo has been identified as Suraj Baniya (33), s/o Ganga Ram Baniya of Irang Part-II and Rebika Rai (34), w/o Bijay Rai of Sekmai Tispari.
In another report, Singjamei Police arrested two persons along with 26 litres of DIC from Lilong Chajing area during a drive around 5:10 pm.
The individuals have been identified as Laishram Pahari Singh (45), s/o L Hemanta and Hawaibam Bhubon Singh (48), s/o H Kullabidhu Singh, both from Lilong Chajing Konjeng Leikai.
On the other hand, Patsoi Police recovered nearly 40 litres of DIC liquor during a drive at Patsoi Part-I area.
However, there is no report of arrest made.
