RK Anand distributes HY seeds to farmers

Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC ex-MLA and BJP Manipur Pradesh executive member RK Anand on Sunday distributed high yielding paddy seeds to 40 farmers of the constituency at his residence in Kwakeithel Akham Leikai.
The ex-MLA had earlier distributed the same to 40 farmers on June 21.Speaking on the occasion, RK Anand informed that the seeds were distributed free of cost after consultation with the Chief Minister and the Agriculture minister.
The central and state governments are extending all possible support to increase the yield of the state; he said, while urging the farmers to work their hardest to make Manipur a self-sustainable state.
Regarding the National Food Security Act, Anand said that due to lack of a working MLA, Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC is facing many difficulties, including cancellation of 575 quintal of rice.
As a result, many beneficiaries are facing immense difficulties amidst the Covid19 pandemic.
Thus, he urged the CM to look into the matter and help alleviate the suffering of both the card holders and non-card holders of the constituency.
Further urging the local agents of Fair Price Shops to maintain an egalitarian outlook, the ex-MLA urged the agents to be honest regarding the free rice released for the month of May till November.
It may be mentioned here that the former MLA had distributed dinner meal packages to the inmates of the Community Home Isolation Centre set up at Pitambara English School, along with distribution of edible items to families located inside the containment zones of the AC on Saturday.
