Considering the need to disseminate awareness among the common people, Maram Students' Union (MKS) reached out to people living in western Maram including Willong Khullen, Willong Khunou, Pumdunglung, Kamalung, Sangkungmei and Sangkunglung as their first endeavour of creating awareness on mass Covid-19 vaccination with village authorities.
Addressing the need to take the vaccine during a meeting with the village authorities, Bosco Kashung of MKS said that vaccination and following SOP are the only way that people could fight the pandemic.
He also urged people not to believe in false propaganda that is going viral on social media but to keep their trust on the medical fraternity.
He also requested people to take part in the mass vaccination (Covid-19) to ensure vaccination of the entire villagers at the earliest so as to save lives and assured that the office of MKS will be always open to redress the needs of the people.
MKS will continue the awareness campaign in the days to come in the rest of Maram inhabited area including the Northern Maram and the Southern Maram.
During the awareness campaign, SDO (Phaibung) Rang David Kung spoke about the importance of early vaccination and made it clear that all the top leaders and bureaucrats of the country have been vaccinated and urged villagers to come forward and vaccinate themselves as well for common safety.
Medical kits consisting of hand sanitizers and medicines were also distributed to the respective village authorities during the campaign.
MKS expressed its sincere gratitude to social worker Ngatuba Simon for his generous contribution towards organising the awareness campaign and Sangkunglung villagers for providing fresh organic vegetables and fruits.
