Many continue to distribute relief items

Several organisation and individuals continue to provide relief items to help in alleviating the hardships faced by the people amid the difficult time of COVID-19 pandemic.
AMUCO
As a part of its objective of reaching out to 10 thousand households affected by the Covid pandemic, the All Manipur United Club Organisation (AMUCO) has extended relief items to 296 households within Imphal West, Imphal East and Kakching districts in collaboration with like minded organisations today.
With today's distribution, AMUCO has so far reached out to 4246 households with the help of different local organisations, said AMUCO in a statement.
As a part of today's relief work, 106 households within the jurisdiction of Singjamei to Lilong United Clubs' Organisation (SLUCO)- a conglomerate of 64 clubs, were distributed food items under the supervision of AMUCO secretary organisation (in-charge)-Koijam Santosh Meitei and SLUCO president, Salam Tombi, the release said.
The areas covered during the relief work are Kyamgei Mayai Leikai (15 households), Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai (19), Singjamei Thongam Leikai (15), Kakwa Asem Leikai (19), Thongju Pheija Leitong (15), Thongju Boroi Makhong (15), Chanam Pukhrimapal (8), it said.
AMUCO also joined hands with the Social United Clubs' Organisation (SUCO)-an umbrella body of 18 clubs in Imphal East and distributed edible items to select 150 households affected worst by Covid.
The relief team was led by Yumkhaibam Inaocha, executive member of AMUCO and SUCO's general secretary, Khel Sharma, it said.
30 households in Khurai Ningthoubung and 10 each at Wangkhei Ayangpalli, Kongpal Naoroibam Leikai, Moirangkampu Sajeb, Angom Leikai, Khurai Chingangbam Leikai, Kongpal Sabal Leikai, Top Mayai Leikai, Top Khongnangmakhong Mamang Leikai, Top Makha Leikai, Kongpal Khaidem Leikai, Kongpal Kongkham Leikai and Kongpal Kshetri Leikai were covered through local clubs, it said.
All Manipur United Club Organisation also tied up with conglomerate body of 11 clubs in Kakching called Social Economic Development Organisation (SEDO) and distributed edibles to 20 households in Hiyanglam and 20 households in Wabagai were covered in collaboration with Citizen Association for Rural Development (CARD) which is a conglomerate body of 13 clubs, the release continued.
Meanwhile AMUCO in association with All Manipur Women Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA), Kakching District United Clubs Organisation (KADUCO) and Ekta Parishad, Manipur started distribution of edible items in different places of Kakching district from yesterday onwards.
The edible items were distributed to around 192 underprivileged and needy households at Tokpa Ching in Hiyanglam AC and Kakching Khunou, Umathel, Chairel, Khongyang and Tangjeng in Sugnu AC today, said a press release by AMUCO.
Local clubs All Tokpa Ching Development Organisation (ATDO) and All Kakching Khunou United Clubs Organisation (AKUKO) also extended support in today's distribution programme.
Khundrakpam
Khundrakpam Kendra Development Committee (KKDC) under the aegis of MLA of Khundrakpam AC, Th Lokeshwar distributed edible items to around 43 households in containment zones of the constituency yesterday.
The items were distributed to containment zones of Sagolmang, Pukhao Terapur, Haraorou, Khundrakpam Mayai Leikai and Tangkham Awang Leikai.
The Committee also extended monetary assistance of Rs 5,000 (Rupees five thousand) and two bags of rice to Khongbantabam Machaton of Pukhao Terapur who is in deplorable state.
Thongju
Continuing his humanitarian services towards the Covid affected families of Thongju AC, social activist Seram Neken distributed edible items to around 190 households in the containment zones of Bashikhong Panthoibi, Bashikhong Mamang Leikai, Bashikhong Bazar, Khongman Zone IV and V and Kongba Nandeibam Leikai yesterday.
Seram Neken who is also a Zilla Parishad member of Imphal East has been providing meals to around 40 Covid positive patients of Thongju AC.
Moreover the Food Bank opened at his residence has been providing food to distressed families on demand, said a statement by Seram Neken.
He further urged all political parties and politicians to join hands setting aside political agendas in fighting against the deadly pandemic.
