Protest held against fuel price hike

Imphal, June 27 2021:
In solidarity to the nationwide protest against high fuel prices, members and leaders of CPI, CPI (M), RSP and AIFB in collaboration with locals of Oinam, Bishnupur, Moirang, Thanga and Kumbi staged protests at Oinam, Bishnupur, Moirang, Thangjing Haraopham, Thanga Lawai, Kumbi and along Imphal-Kumbi road on Sunday.
Speaking at one of the protest sites, CPI-MSC secretary L Sotinkumar charged the Narendra Modi-led NDA government of oppressing the poor while pleasing corporate houses.
The left party however will always continue to stand against such injustices, he added.
CPI (M) Manipur secretary Shanta called for public support in the ongoing protests, adding that it would be a big help in reducing the fuel prices.
Meanwhile, CPI-MSC assistant secretary L Joykumar Luwang appealed to all to extend support to the protests being staged by left parties so as to help support the working class.
The protest was also attended by Bishnupur district CPI secretary K Bimol, Ningthoukhong secretary RK Yaiskul, AITUC Manipur leader S Nilkamal, Oinam secretary Roshan and Kumbi secretary Gyaneshwar.
