Imphal, October 11 2021:
BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda said that the party has neither indulged in any sort of persuasion to rope in new members from rival political parties nor is there any need for such acts.
Interacting with media persons on the sidelines of launching poll campaign of the party on Monday, Sharda reacted against the statement made by MPCC president N Loken and said that BJP never persuades anybody to join the party but the party will keep its door open for anybody who is willing to join the party after realising the BJP government's activities.
BJP warmly welcomes Congress president and general secretary on joining the party and they agreed to work on the ideologies and principles of the party, she said.
She also asked if Congress government had taken up any welfare initiatives like CMHT for the people of the state during their tenure.
She further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the state soon to assess the development works being taken up in the state and review implementation of various schemes and projects.
Regarding the charges made by opposition that none the union ministers announced any financial package for development of the state despite their frequent visits, Sharda pointed out that the Jal Shakti ministry sanctioned Rs 300 crore for providing tap water connection after the state government submitted a survey report.
For the first time in the history of the state, ministers go directly to the field and conduct survey, she said while remarking that the opposition will not know the pace of development without going in the field.
The size of public gathering at the felicitation function of BJP national president JP Nadda held at Utlou showed the strength and public support for the party.
After the meeting, the national president chaired a core committee meeting at the party office which was attended by BJP MLAs, ministers, MPs and other leaders.
The meeting discussed the 2022 election and chalked out strategies to ensure winning of 40 seats.
For the first time, people of the state are getting the real taste of freedom under the BJP government, she said while calling for public support for a better Manipur.
