CCpur, October 11 2021:
The Kuki Students' Organisation Churachandpur has announced the closure of JNV Tuinom, Churachandpur today over an alleged fraudulent and faulty admission process.
In a statement issued today, the students body informed all stakeholders concerned and the public that the Organisation is compelled to close down JNV Tuinom and suspend all admission processes of JNV Tuinom including normal functioning of the institution with immediate effect over the fraudulent and faulty admission processes to JNV Tuinom.
"Although the Government of India established one JNV in each district, JNV Churachandpur became a safe haven for every district in Manipur.
As per the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) Eligibility Criteria Rule No 41, only candidates hailing from the district concerned where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is located are eligible to apply for admission.
"The selected students on the basis of the test will be admitted only in the JNV located in the district from where they are studying in.
However, after a close and scrupulous vigil of the admission processes, it has been observed that many students from outside Churachandpur district are getting admission in JNV Churachandpur every year from the district quota/share, violating all norms and guidelines laid down for admission", it alleged.
It also cited instances of 15 students from Imphal East and West gaining admission by producing/making false documents.
They have never attended or seen or are not bonafide students of Gracy English High School, have been enrolled/declared eligible to get admission in JNV Tuinom, claimed the student body.
It further added that the KSO/CCpur has taken serious note of the fraudulent practices of Gracy English High School and appropriate legal action shall be initiated against the institution.
It also cited 7 other cases involving another 15 students, who do not fit the eligibility criteria Rule No 4.1 of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti but are enrolled/declared eligible to get admissions.
One student each from Gilgal English School; Living Water School; Senpangjar JB School; Laikamualsau JB school; two from VN Model School; four from Vungzagen High School; and five from Sagang High school are the other schools with which these students have gained their admission.
KSO also claimed that Headmasters/Headmistress of Vungzagen High School, Senpangjal JB School and Laikamualsau JB School have already declared and confessed that the above-mentioned students are not their students and that they are using the school's name to further their admission.
The student body therefore felt the need to close JNV Tuinom and all admission processes including the normal functioning of the institute, until an amicable solution is reached or settled.
KSU further appealed to the authority concerned including DC/CCpur to take appropriate action against the defaulting institutions, Headmaster/Headmistress, Sub Divisional Officers (SDO) and other stakeholders.
