State receives PDRD Grant of Rs 210 crore

The department of expenditure, Ministry of Finance has released 7th monthly instalment of Post Devolution Revenue Deficit (PDRD) Grant of Rs 9,871 crore to 17 states Monday which include Rs 210.33 crore for Manipur.
With the release of this instalment, a total amount of Rs 69,097 crore has been released to eligible states as PDRD grants in the current financial year.
With Monday's release of Rs 210.33 crore, Manipur has got a total of Rs 1472.33 crore as PDRD for the current financial year.
Other North East states which received monthly PDRD instalment included Assam (Rs 531.33 crore), Meghalaya (Rs 106.58 crore), Mizoram (Rs 149.17 crore), Nagaland (Rs 379.75 crore), Sikkim (Rs 56.50 crore) and Tripura (Rs 378.83 crore).
Other states which received latest PDRD instalment were Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
The Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant is provided to the states under Article 275 of the Constitution.
The grants are released as per the recommendations of the Fifteenth Finance Commission in monthly instalments to meet the gap in Revenue Accounts of the states post devolution.
The Commission has recommended PDRD grants to 17 states during 2021-22.The Fifteenth Finance Commission has recommended a total Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant of Rs 1,18,452 crore to 17 states in the financial year 2021-22.Out of this, an amount of Rs 69,097.00 crore (58.33%) has been released so far.
