Training programme on food processing kicks off

The inaugural function of a 10 day training programme on food processing was held today at Manipur Khadi and Villages Industries Board (MKVIB), Lamphelpat.
The training programme has been organized by the National Small Industries Corporation Limited Imphal under the sponsorship of Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).
The function was attended by Chairman of MKVIB) L Radhakishore Singh , Vice Chairman (MKVIB) Imphal Y Nilamani Singh, Member secretary, (MKVIB) Imphal, N Jugindro Singh , Chairman, MIDC, P Loken Singh , Joint Director (Geology and Mining), Directorate of Commerce and Industries ,Kh Dilip Singh, Deputy Director, MSME Technology Centre Imphal, Ministry of MSME Govt of India , Dr Sinam Yoirentomba Meetei and retired General Manager,DIC,Y Raghumani Singh as presidium members.
Speaking on about the programme, L Ibetombi Devi, manager NSIC, Imphal said that around 40 trainees will be taking part in the training programme including representatives of units registered under APEDA and other unemployed youths.
She continued that the objective of the programme is to help in making the unemployed youths become self thereby making them job provider instead of job seekers.
