MoS RK Ranjan has assured that he will inspect the contentious sites of Indo-Myanmar border alongwith the officials of the Ministry concerned before the end of this month.
MoS for External Affairs and Education RK Ranjan gave the assurance to representatives of the Collective of Civil Society Organisations (CCSO) who had visited him at his official residence in New Delhi on October 7 to apprise the long standing Indo-Myanmar boundary issue and the recent ADC Bill 2021, said a statement issued by CCSO.
The seven representatives of CCSO held a discussion with the Minister for more than one and half hour wherein they appealed to the Minister to bring a solution to the Indo-Myanmar boundary issue, added the statement.
The representatives also appealed to the MoS to frame policies to establish diplomatic relations with South East Asian countries to create market opportunities for the people of the region.
They also suggested organising international conference, business summit or cultural exchange program with countries of WESEA at Imphal, which is considered the gateway of Act East Policy to provide new opportunities to the North Eastern States of the country, added the statement.
Other issues including full implementation of 'Free Trade' policy between India and Myanmar, opening of visa centres at Moreh and Tamu and making Imphal-Mandalay bus service a regular one to facilitate tourism service in the region were also raised to the MoS.
Regarding the ADC Bill 2021, the representatives of CCSO told the MoS that the Bill has both its positive as well as downsides and added that the Bill needs to be discussed thoroughly before it is introduced or passed and requested the MoS to raise the issue to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister.
The team also submitted a representation copy of their concern about the issues mentioned above.
The CCSO team also tried to meet the Home Minister but were unable to do so as he was out of station.
The team submitted their representation copy to MoS Home Nityainanda Rai.
The representatives of CCSO had also met DoNER Minister G Kishan Reddy on October 6 .
CCSO, a collective organisation formed by representatives from IPSA, ACOAM LUP, PANDM, IPAK, CLK, KANGLAMEI, KIL and KSA was represented by Yumnamcha Dilipkumar, president PANDM; Sanjit Soraisam, president ACOAM Lup; Khuraijam Athouba, vice president IPSA; I Bimola, general secretary, KANGLAMEI; RK Sanahanbi, president KIL; Ch Pakpi Chanu, president CLK and Sukham Bidyananda, president KSA.
