International Day of Girl Child observed

As part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and Pan-India Awareness and Outreach programme.
District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Senapati observed the International Day of Girl Child at the premises of Manipur North Development Association, Senapati on Monday.
During the observance, DLSA Senapati retainer lawyer S Marisena spoke on 'Digital generation, our generation and DLSA Senapati chairman Samom Ibjen on 'Legal rights of the girl child' as resource persons.
In all, 50 students took part in the observance.
Later, notebooks, pens, soaps, towels, hair bands, face masks and food items were distributed.
Bharat Vikas Parishad Manipur Prant also observed International Day of Girl Child under the theme 'Kanya Pujan-Healthy girl for healthy nation' at Ningthoukhong Bazar on Monday.
During the programme, hemoglobin tests on around 73 young women were conducted.
Sanitary napkins and items, hand towels and edibles were also distributed to them.
Ex-MLA Govindas Konthoujam, BVP National vice president Dr S Rajendra, CAU ex-VC Prof M Premjit and MU Department of Life Sciences head Prof Damayanti attended the event as presidium members.
H Joybee, who attended as resource person, spoke about female reproductive health, maternal health and malnutrition, while urging the young women to stay healthy for a healthy society.
