Senapati, October 11 2021:
The Kaibi Village Authority has appealed to the public to refrain from organising any function/picnic/fest at Kozhophe (Kaibi) or Zhophao (Koide) .
In a release, Kaibi Village Authority stated that the circular was not meant to hurt the sentiment of anyone but an attempt to maintain peace and harmony between two villages with a sense of promoting the concept of brotherhood.
"The said location/ area (Khozhophe or Zhophao) is a disputed land and a case is pending under the judicial Court.
Therefore, till such time the case is being resolved or settled, the public are requested to respect the sentiment of the concerned villagers and refrain from organising any programme, picnic or party", it said.
The village authority also cautioned that any group, organisation or community breaching the appeal shall be construed as intentional with an ulterior motive to conspire and escalate the problems rather than initiating peace.
It also expressed reservations against the purpose of the 3 Men's open volleyball tournament to be organised by Upper Koide Youth Club (UKYC) and NaamaiZho Youth Club (NZYC) from October 14, 2021 at the disputed land.
The Kaibi Village Authority further appealed to the people to set aside the aforementioned site/venue from any social activities until the case is being resolved.
