Imphal, October 11 2021:
Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Churachandpur has announced closure of JNV Tuinom and suspension of admission process of the school with immediate effect.
"Kuki Students' Organisation Churachandpur is deeply regretted to inform all stakeholders and the public that the organisation is compelled to close down JNV Tuinom and suspend all admission processes including normal functioning of the institution with immediate effect following detection of fraudulent and faulty admission process," the student body said in a press release on Monday.
It contended that despite the government of India establishing one JNV in each district, JNV Churachandpur has become safe haven for every district in Manipur.
As per the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) Eligibility Criteria Rule No 4.1, only candidates hailing from the district concerned where the Vidyalaya is located are eligible to apply for admission.
"The students selected on the basis of the test will be admitted only in the JNV located in the district from where they are studying in.
However, after a close and scrupulous vigil of the admission processes, it has been observed that many students from outside Churachandpur district are getting admission in JNV Churachandpur every year in the District quota/share, violating all norms and guidelines laid down far admission.
"For instance, by producing/making false documents 15 students from Imphal East & Imphal West who have never attended or seen or are not bonafide students of Gracy English High School, have been enrolled/declared eligible to get admission in JNV Tuinom.
What is more astounding and surprising, all applications from this institution were made using only two contact numbers (8414811489 & 9612679119) .
This is a clear indication that there was someone at play," KSO added.
It further said, "KSO/CCPUR took serious note of the fraudulent practices of Gracy English High School and appropriate legal action shall be initiated against the above-mentioned institution" .
KSO CCPUR then gave a list of other students who do not fit in eligibility criteria Ru}e No 4.1 of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti but are enrolled/declared eligible to get admission: Gilgal English School- 1 student from Imphal East; Sagang High School - 5 students from Wangoi and Bishnupur; Vungzagen High School - 4 students from Imphal East & Imphal West; VN Model English High School - 2 students from Imphal West & Bishnupur; Living Water High School - 1 student Imphal West; Senpangjar JB School -1 student from Imphal West; and Laikamualsau JB school - 1 student from Imphal West.
Headmasters/Headmistress of Vungzagen High School, Senpangjal JB School and Laikamualsau JB School have declared and confessed that the above-mentioned students are not their students and that they are using the school's name to further their admission, KSO said.
"KSO/CCPUR keeps a close vigil on District's JNVST and views these nasty practices with all seriousness.
Therefore, we are compelled to close JNV Tuinom and all admission processes including the normal functioning of the institute, until amicable solution is reached or settled," it announced.
The student body then appealed to higher authority including DC Churachandpur to take appropriate action against the defaulting institutions , headmasters/headmistress, sub-divisional officers (SDO) and other stakeholders, while warning that it "will not remain a silent spectator if our demands are not met" .
