Imphal, June 11 2026:
Celin Digital chairman Dr Phanjoubam Lanajit Singh highlighted the ongoing Manipur conflict during the 2nd International GSA Conference held at Hamro Banke Bardiya Hotel in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Addressing at the conference, Dr Lanajit spoke about the humanitarian situation arising from the ethnic violence that erupted in Manipur on May 3, 2023 .
Referring to reports published by local print and electronic media in the State, he said that a large number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) are still unable to return to their homes and continue to live in relief camps.
He stated that the prolonged conflict has claimed more than 300 lives, while over 30 people remain missing.
The continuing displacement and uncertainty faced by affected families remain a matter of serious concern, he added.
Dr Lanajit expressed regret that both the State and Central Governments have not been able to bring a lasting solution to the crisis despite more than three years having passed since the outbreak of violence.
He described the situation as unfortunate and called upon the authorities concerned to take concrete and effective measures to restore peace and normalcy in the State.
