Assam Rifles holds security meet in Bishnupur, promotes peace and community cooperation

Bishnupur, June 11 2026:
Assam Rifles organised a security meet in Bishnupur district as part of its continued effort to strengthen cooperation with local communities and promote lasting peace and regional stability.
According to IGAR (South), the programme witnessed the participation of the village chairman along with 21 residents, including village elders and youth representatives.
The platform enabled a candid dialogue on the current security landscape and the imperative ' of maintaining communal harmony.
Discussions centred on proactive measures to curb anti-social activities and combat the rising menace of drug abuse among the youth.
Emphasising the necessity of community vigilance, the security personnel encouraged the populace to share information regarding suspicious activities promptly to help maintain a secure environment.
The interaction also provided an opportunity for residents to voice developmental concerns, ranging from road connectivity and educational access to the implementation of welfare schemes and employment avenues for local youth.
Assam Rifles assured the attendees that their genuine grievances would be communicated to the appropriate civil administration for early redressal.
Furthermore, the event underscored the perils of misinformation on social media and highlighted the Force's commitment to humanitarian and civic action initiatives.
