NWU remembers Rano M Shaiza

Naga Women's Union (NWU) expressed grief at the demise of the Rano Mese Shaiza, First Woman Member of Parliament (MP) from Nagaland and one of the foremost Women Naga Leaders who had expired at the age of 81on April 1.In a release, NWU said Rano Shaiza was a good wife and mother to her children at the same time she was amongst the pioneering Naga woman politician, social activist, and educationist.
She was also a peacemaker who took part in brokering peace at the first Indo-Naga talk, a reformer who pleaded for the freedom of religion and advocated for peaceful solution to the Indo-Naga Political problem added NWU.
Rano will be remembered for her contributions and services towards Naga people and the cause of nation building observed NWU and added her contribution will always be cherished while her legacy and position will remained an inspiration to all young; old and future generations.
