New Delhi, April 02 2015 :
In a major breakthrough, National Investigation Agency interrogation of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Songibjit) cadres has revealed that Chinese made weapons come to Manipur through the China-Myanmar-India border.
According to the interrogation report accessed by CNN-IBN, arms consignments are smuggled from the China border to South Myanmar by the Kachin rebels who hand over the weapons to NSCN(IM) cadres in South Myanmar.
NSCM (IM) then passes on the weapons to NDFB (S) in Manipur which are taken to Assam's Bodoland area, where NDFB militants operate.
Forty-six NDFB(S) members have been arrested so far by the NIA after December 2014 massacre of tribals.
In December 2014, 62 people were killed by Bodo militants in Assam in separate incidents of violence.
A series of attacks at four places in Sonitpur and Kokrajhar districts shook Assam in December 2014 .
Police said that the attack was unleashed by heavily armed militants belonging to NDFB (S) opposed to peace talks.
