Imphal, April 02 2015 :
All Manipur Primary Teachers Association (AMPTA) has said that the association will not only complain to Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani but also sue Education (S) Secretary, Education (U) Commissioner, SCERT Director and Education (S) Director if the State Government fails to issue an order to effect the 6-month Special Programme in Elementary Education for all the BEd qualified Primary teachers within April 15 .
In a statement, AMPTA said that NCTE Research Officer Dr SK Chauhan had written to the State Government that arrangements to conduct the 6-month Special Programme in Elementary Education for BEd, DEd/BEd (Special Education) qualified teachers, has reached the final stage.
However, it has come to light that the Education (S) Director had forwarded a list of only 47 teachers to SCERT for the said training programme on February 9 last leaving out over 500 BEd qualified Primary teachers, Hindi Primary teachers, SSA (Primary teachers) and SSA (Upper Primary teachers), the statement said.
Stating that AMPTA would object the Director's move, the statement said that it is illogical to undergo another 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education programme by BEd qualified teachers.
Questioning the stand of the State Government on the matter, AMPTA queried what action would be taken against the bureaucrats who have misled the Education Minister on the issue.
The statement further questioned how the Government would relate this 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education with the training programme which BEd qualified teachers would undergo.
The statement further questioned why the State Government is maintaining silence although the Directorate of Education (S) has violated the rules and regulations laid down by the Union Ministry of Human Resource and Development and NCTE.
