Kangpokpi, August 29 2026:
The chief of T Waichong village in Kangpokpi district has categorically rejected the claim that a CRPF convoy carrying the mortal remains of four Liangmai youths was obstructed at the village on August 27 .
The village chief, L Kipgen, alleged neither the villagers nor the village authority blocked, hindered or interfered with the convoy at any point.
Circulating fabricated claims only serves to create unnecessary friction and deepen communal mistrust between neighbouring communities, the chief said, urging civil society organisations including the United Naga Council (UNC) to exercise restraint and verify facts before issuing statements.
