BJP State unit president A Sarda Devi has stated that the election of Draupadi Murmu as the 15 th President of the country is a testament that building a healthier and vibrant India requires collective efforts of all communities.
In celebration of the election of Draupadi Murmu to the top Constitutional post of the country, the BJP felicitated some Kuki and Naga village chiefs at its office at Nityaipat Chuthek today.
The chiefs who were felicitated are Tongmang Haokip (Saitu); Haokholen Kipgen (Lhangkichoi); Shimdhar Zimik (Remrei) and Christain Son (Shingta).
At the event, Sarda thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for nominating tribal leader Draupadi Murmu as the Presidential candidate for NDA who emerged victorious by a huge margin.
She also thanked Chief Minister N Biren Singh, his Council of Ministers and MLAs who supported the NDA candidate in the Presidential election.
Reiterating that a collective effort is needed to build a healthier and more vibrant India, Sarda said that the election of a tribal woman to the highest Constitutional post is a fine example of unity in diversity.
Continuing that Draupadi Murmu is a brave woman of integrity who has been working to uplift the weaker sections socially, politically and economically, Sarda stated that the President elect had lost his two sons and husband while she was new in politics.
Further stating that Draupadi Murmu has been serving the country at different capacity since the day she joined active politics, Sarda said that the President elect had also served as the Governor of Jharkhand for 6 years.
Sarda further stated that Draupadi Murmu closed about 5,500 cases related to education while she was the Governor of Jharkhand.
