NIT team meets WB Guv; SSI selectees feted

National Integration Tour (NIT) organised by Modi Battalion of (GAR (South) from Machi to Kolkata and comprising 20 students of Machi Government High School on Thursday inter acted with West Bengal Governor Dr CV Ananda Bose.
Informing that the tour is aimed at providing exposure to students to interact with eminent personalities and visit places and institutions of historical and national importance, PRO IGAR (S) said in a release that the students shared their experience of the tour so far with the Governor and also expressed how it is beneficial in shaping their character and future.
Girl students of the School also presented the song 'Come NIT- Unite, be one' at the Raj Bhavan.
The Governor during his address highlighted the importance of youth in nation building and motivated them to always aim for excellence.
The Governor also appreciated the Assam Rifles for organising such tour and encouraged for more such initiatives in the future.
On the other-hand, Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a felicitation programme for students of V Munlai village in Churachandpur district who have cleared the All India Sainik School Entrance Examination 2023 (AISSEE) on Thursday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that three students Chineihat, Heltwinson Khate and Lamlenkhup Khaute all of V Munlai village are all set to take admission in 6th class in the prestigious Sainik School, Imphal (SSI).
The candidates were provided necessary assistance in registration process and preparations of exam by Assam Rifles.
The entrance exam for ad mission in Sainik School was held on January 4 at Imphal.
During the event, Assam Rifles complimented parents of students and the villagers for extending support to the candidates during preparation of exam.
