Imphal, March 02 2023:
The annual ritual of offering prayer at the sacred site of Kongba Maru Laiphamlen will be held on March 25 and 26 this year which falls on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
The above was informed by Umanglai Kanba Apunba Lup (UKAL) general secretary Mutum Maniton during a press meet held today at Kongba Maru.
Stating that Kongba Maru Laiphamlen is one of the significant sacred sites of the State, Maniton said many devotees come to offer prayer at this sacred site usually from the first Saturday after Sajibu Nongma Panba (the first day of Sajibu month of Manipuri lunar calendar) .
During these days, many devotees throng the site by climbing hills and offering prayers at different sacred sites located on these hills, he added.
He further informed that in view of the increasing number of devotees visiting the site, UKAL in association with many local organisations of Yumnam Khunou will take up various measures to ensure that the ritual is held smoothly.
Further he appealed to all to make collective efforts to preserve the indigenous traditions and faith.
He also appealed to the State Government to extend best possible help to the organisers.
