Members of Team Yuva Sangam from Maharashtra, who are on a weeklong tour to Manipur, on Thursday interacted with chief minister N Biren at Shree Shree Govindajee Temple, Palace Compound where they went to attend the morning prayer on day four of their visit.
During the interaction, the chief minister informed the team members that his government is doing its best to develop the state.
The Central government is also giving special focus on the NE region, particularly Manipur as the region is the gateway to Southeast Asia, he added.
The Yuva Sangam team from Maharashtra arrived on February 27 under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB), a pilot initiative by government of India.
After the prayer, they met the chief minister and MP (Rajya Sabha) Leishemba Sanajaoba, who also showed up to offer prayers to Govindaji seeking blessings for the victory of BJP candidates in the assembly elections in Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland.
In the evening, IIIT Manipur hosted a valedictory function for the visiting team at the auditorium of the institute at Mantripukhri.

In his speech as guest of honour, LDA chairman M Asnikumar Singh opined that during the last five days, the students from Maharashtra must have learned about the culture, sports, religion, and customs of Manipur.
"You should share the beauty of Manipur to others in your state," he said, pointing to the visiting students.
The valedictory function was also attended by IIIT Nagpur EBSB nodal officer Dr Kriti S and HIT Manipur director Prof Krishnan Baskar among others.
