Imphal, March 02 2023:
All Manipur Candle Makers' Association celebrated its 2nd foundation day at Manipur Press Club, here, on Wednesday.
Speaking as chief guest of the celebration, BABINA Group chairman & managing director Dr Thangjam Dhabali Singh noted that of the 30 lakh population of the state, around 5 lakh people are well educated but remain without a job in their hands.
These 5 lakh people are registered in the employment exchanges and there could be more jobless youths who are yet to be formally registered in the employment exchanges, he observed.
Dr Dhabali also expressed elation that unlike in the past when the youth of Manipur generally clamoured for government jobs, there has been a healthy trend of many setting up private enterprises thereby making themselves financially security as well as creating jobs for others.
As such for achieving the real goal of development, the state needs to have many entrepreneurs, he said and stressed the need for all to work together to develop the economy.
Presided over by All Manipur Candle Makers' Association president Konthoujam Anandabi Leima, the function was also attended by RIMS Department of Urolo gy head Dr Sinam Rajendra Singh and Manipur Development Council president Ayam Meiraba Khuman as guests of honour.
