TRAU, RULE seal victories in MNCA Elite tournament

TRAU Kwakeithel and RULE Malom emerged victorious in today's matches of the 7th edition of MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament.
The first match of the day was played between TRAU and SCCC Singjamei Thongam Leikai at Model Higher Secondary & Oriental College Ground, wherein the former sealed a comfortable 91 runs victory.
Opting to bat first, TRAU smashed 179/7 in the 40 over match while their opponent was bundled out for 88 runs in just 29.1 overs.
Some of the top scorers of TRAU were Behul Singh Moibungkhongbam (37 runs); Bishworjit Nongmaithem (36 runs); Karnajit Yumnam (27 runs), Rahul Rajkumar (24 runs) and Anand Naorem (unbeaten 21 runs) .

The wicket takers of SCCC, on the other hand, were Lishan Meitei Khaidem (2 wkts), Rakeshwor Hidangmayum (2 wkts), Sandeep Chakraborty (1 wkt), Basant (1 wkt) and Oinam Pradeep (1 wkt) .
In the chase, SCCC showed poor batting performances as they lost some early wickets without making much runs.
It was only Rahul Chanda (43 runs off 78 balls) and Lishan Meitei Khaidem (15 runs off 36 balls) who smashed double digit runs for the Singjamei side.
TRAU's Anand Naorem who fell four wickets in the second innings and hit 21 runs was declared man of the match.
RULE, Malom defeated CRAU Khamnam Bazar by 33 runs in the following match staged at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-III.
In the high scoring match, RULE set a target of 241 with six wickets down in 40 overs while CRAU managed to hit 208 runs in the chase. At least three batsmen of RULE smashed half centuries in the first innings - Sanjenbam Suresh (63 runs off 91 balls), Ayekpam Rakesh Singh (60 runs off 66 balls) and Jay Singh (60 off 56 balls) .
CRAU started poorly in the second innings as many of their batsmen were dismissed without making much runs other than Dijen Singh Naorem who knocked 74 runs off 105 deliveries and Lamabam Ajay Singh (34 runs off 40 balls) .
Nongthombam Denin Singh of RULE took maximum wickets (3 wkts) for his team.
Jay Singh of RULE who smashed 60 runs and 2 wickets was declared man of the match.
Blue Hawk will play Al Ameen tomorrow.
In group standing, CYCLONE Thangmeiband currently tops the chart by accumulating 10 points followed by PTRC, Patsoi Part IV (10 points), CHAMP, Khagempalli (8 points) and TRAU, Kwakeithel (6 points) .
