TRAU outclass SCCC, RULE defeat CRAU in Elite Tournament

TRAU brushed aside SCCC by 91 runs while RULE eclipsed CRAU by 33 runs in Thursday's fixtures of the MNCA Elite Tournament.
TRAU made decent a total of 179/7 in their 40 overs after opting to bat first and then they successfully defended their total.
The main contributors in their innings were Behul Moibungkhongbam (37), Bish worjit Nongmaithem (36), Karnajit Yumnam (27), Rahul Rajkumar (24) and Anand Naorem (21 not out) .
TRAU then produced a lethal bowing performance to bowl out SCCC in 29.1 overs for 88 as Rahul Chanda's fighting effort (43) went in vain.
Anand Naorem shone with ball claiming four scalps as Puinachandra Sharma and Priyojit Kangabam snapped two each, and Yumnam Am ritakan bagged one to propel their side to an emphatic 91-run win.
Earlier, Rakeshwor Republic and Lishan Khaidem took two wickets apiece while Sandeep Chakraborty, Basant and Oinam Pradeep got one each for SCCC.
Anand Naorem earned the man of the match for his unbeaten 21 and four wickets.
RULE, meanwhile, relied on their trio of Sanjenbam Suresh, Ayekpam Rakesh and Jay Singh to post a challenging total of 241/6 after CRAU opted to held.
Suresh top-scored for RULE with 63 and both Ayekpam Rakesh and Jay Singh made 60 to help their side set up a competitive target for their opponents.
In the process, RULE two wickets to T Kala and one wach to Mehtab Jamal and L Jotin.
In reply, CRAU had a disastrous start losing their openers, one for a duck and the other for 1.Then Dijen Naorem, who batted at No 3, steadied the ship but his dismissal on 74 and the removal of L Ajay (34) proved costly.
CRAU batted the full 40 overs but still fell short of the target after they were stalled at 208 with a wicket in hand.
RULE'S collective bowling effort for their triumph saw Nongthombam Denin pick up three wickets, both Jay Singh and Ayekpam Rakesh claim two, and Thokchom Kishan and Nongthombam Sarojkumar take one each.
Jay Singh, who scored 60 and took two wickets, was named the man of the match.
