Neighbourhood Youth Parliament conducted at various places

District Level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament on the theme, "Vashudaiva Kutumbakam" for Chandel district was held today at Seminar Hall, South East Manipur College (SEMCO), Komlathabi.
The programme was jointly organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Chandel and IQAC Cell, Department of Political Science, SEMCO.
The event was focused on the topics, "G-20 & Y-20 submit", "Mission LIFE", with emphasis on Y20 theme: Shared Future: Youths in Democracy & Government and Catch the Rain Campaign.
The District Youth Parliament and launching of Catch the Rain Project Phase III of NYK Chandel was attended by Dr L Khiloni, Principal SEMCO Komlathabi; Mothel Salka, SDC HQ; and Michael Thangminlien Mate, DYO NYK Chandel as presidium members.

The programme moderated by Dr Miranda Bembem Mutuwa, IQAC & assistant professor, SEMCO began with a welcome address by Sorokhaibam Hardidas Singh, Head of Political Science Department, SEMCO.
Michael Mate deliberated on the salient features of National Young Leaders Program (NLYP), Neighbourhood Youth Parliament (NYP) and Catch The Rain project of National Water Mission.
Mothel Saka led the youths in a Water Pledge and officially launched the Catch The Rain Project for Chandel.
In the second session, 10 selected students- 5 from SEMCO and 5 from United College Chandel spoke on various topics of Y20 Summit.
Resource persons, Sweet Roel, assistant professor, Political Science Department, SEMCO spoke on the topic, "Shared feature and Youth in Democracy & Government" and Celine Roel Ringriih, assistant professor, Zoology Department, SEMCO elaborated on Mission LiFE with emphasis on Catch The Rain project.
The event culminated with a short prayer by Dr L Khiloni.
Moreover, NYK Senapati and National Service Scheme (NSS) of Don Bosco College (A), Maram also organised a District Level Neighborhood Parliament at the College today.
It was attended by Wanglar Paulina Monsang, District Programme Coordinator, NYK Senapati, Langonjam Chingkheinganba Meitei, Sr Asani and Sr Ethel.
Delivering the keynote address, Fr Dr KO Sebastian, principal DBC (A), Maram, encouraged the students to preserve water judiciously.
