Boy assaulted, many condemn

Tamenglong, February 06 2014:
A 14-year old non-local boy identified as Mukeshkumar Gupta s/o Sriram Gupta of Tamenglong was reportedly assaulted by some unidentified persons today.
Mukeshkumar is studying in class V at Trinity Public School, Tamenglong.
He was reportedly picked up by the unidentified assailants who came in a Bolero while the victim was coming out of the school at around 2 pm today.
Mukeshkumar was taken to an isolated place where he was beaten black and blue, needing treatment at the district hospital.
According to the victim, he was left unconscious, and he reached at around 7.30 pm after regaining his senses.
The victim said that the culprits put on masks on their faces and wore caps.
The culprits questioned him (Mukeshkumar), "Why did you shout when we came to steal mobile from a shop in December last year.
According to the family, some unidentified persons gave Mukeshkumar wine and slapped him some 10 days back.
He was also threatened with dire consequences.
Meanwhile, Zeliangrong Student Union Tamenglong district and Traders Association, Tamenglong have strongly condemned the incident terming it as barbaric.
They also appealed to the concerned authority to book the culprits and punished them in accordance o the law of the land.
