Gaidinliu's 99th Birthday at Mumbai

Vidyanidhi Educational Institute organised the 99th birthday of late Padmashree Rani Ma Gaidinliu at Vidyanidhi Educational Complex, Mumbai on Jan 26 last.
The function was attended by Prof Gangumei Kamei, Rtd Dean of Manipur University, as the chief guest.
He was joined by founder members of Upanagar Shikshan Mandal (USM) Shriram Mantri and Neelkanth Jukar along with Secretary of USM, Dr Kritida Mehta and President of USM, Padmanabh Acharya presided the function, informed a statement.
Prof Gangumei Kamei spoke about the contributions of Hijam Irabot of Manipur, Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi of Assam, Reverend Nicholas Roy of present Meghalaya, Dr Daying Ering of present Arunachal Pradesh and Padmashree Rani Ma Gaidinliu of Nagaland and Manipur.
He also expressed concern over the present economic, social and political situation of North-East India.
The whole of North East India is sitting on a volcano.
He also said equity in development is the need of the hour.
North East is rich in minerals but people are poor.
As a part of the function, Prof Gangumei Kamei inaugurated the North East Exhibition at Vidyanidhi Architecture College.
He also visited Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute of Architecture and Vidyanidhi Marathi Medium Student's residence at Nehru Nagar Zopadpatti and interacted with the students.
