Gadkari vows Rs 50K cr for road projects

Union minister of road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari has said that a double engine government of BJP at the Centre and in the state is required to bring speedy development in Manipur.
Addressing an election rally at the border town of Moreh under Tengnoupal AC on Monday, Gadkari said that Rs 2 lakh crore has already been released for improvement of roads and bridges in the North East and Rs 50,000 crore will be released for Manipur for road improvement at the end of 2024.According to the union minister, the BJP-led government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been able to abolishpoverty, enhance employment, improve condition of roads and bridges, and railways.
Similarly, the BJP led government in Manipur under the leadership of CM Biren has brought significant development in Manipur and the pace of development is going at the rate of 400km per hour like the bullet train, he said and stressed the need for having a double engine government to further enhance the development progress.
He then appealed to people of Tengnoupal AC to support BJP candidate so that representative of the constituency could shoulder responsibility in bringing development.
YAS minister Letpao Haokip, who is contesting from Tengnoupal AC under BJP ticket, also took part in the political rally and drew attention of the Union minister Nitin Gadkari towards the need for improving roads in interior areas of Moreh and market places and encourage local entrepreneurs to increase business community in Moreh.
BJP Manipur Pradesh treasurer OM Prakash and several leaders of Moreh including M Thoiba Singh of Meetei Council Moreh, V Shekhar of Tamil Sangam Moreh, Victor Limthang Thouthang of Hill Tribal Council Moreh, Th Budha Meitei of All community Development Organisation Moreh and Kishan Thapa of Gorkha Samaj Samiti Moreh, Manipuri Muslim Council Moreh president Md Rajauddin, Relief & Disaster Management vice-chairman Janglet Haokip, ADC Chandel former chairman Lhukhosei Zou, former ADC Chandel member Chinneivah Haokip, Kuki Chiefs Association Tengnoupal president LS Seikhojang Baite and people of Moreh town and villages also attended the election rally held at Gamnom ground.
