Governor, CM & others greet people on 'Good Friday'

Manipur Governor Dr KK Paul, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and Speaker Th Lokeshwar Singh have extended heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur especially the4 Christian brethren on the sacred occasion of Good Friday, 2015 .
Dr Paul in a message stated that Jesus was born to serve mankind and create a world order based on truth, sacrifice, equality, compassion and love.
He said Good Friday signifies the ultimate sacrifice the Lord made with His life for the good of mankind and His resurrection, the triumph of good over the evil.
"His teachings have been the ever shining beacons which guide us to become better human beings," Dr Paul said.
"On this pious occasion, let us do some soul searching and re-dedicate ourselves to follow the path the Lord shown with His preaching for a better world bereft of all evils," he urged.
Ibobi has also extended greetings to the people of Manipur especially the Christian brethren on the auspicious occasion of Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
"Good Friday reminds us of the supreme sacrifice made by Lord Jesus Christ for humankind.
The crucifixion of Jesus and resurrection on Easter Sunday are manifestations of the triumph of good over evil, CM Ibobi said in a message.
He said that by His supreme sacrifice, Jesus showed his love, compassion and the strength to forgive the wrongdoer on this solemn occasion and urged, "Let us rededicate ourselves to the noble ideals of love, peace and forgiveness for strengthening the bond of brotherhood and unity among all the people in the State" .
Ibobi wished may the Good Friday and Easter bring peace and happiness to all.
Home minister Gaikhangam also extended greetings to the people of Manipur and especially to the Christians on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
Lord Jesus sacrificed his life so that the world filled with sinners and tortured souls may live a life of peace and honesty and His resurrection after two days proved that good will triumph over evil.
He further wished the state on the coming of Easter Sunday for a better society.
In a separate message, the Speaker also greeted the people of the State particularly the Christian people on the occasion of Good Friday.
Lokeshwar stated that Jesus was born as the son of God to bring peace among the mankind and a world which is free of violence.
He said Jesus sacrificed for the welfare of the mankind.
"Let us remember ourselves on this occasion that Jesus never wanted to make even His enemies suffer.
Let us work together by forgetting our distinct race, caste and creed or religion to make Manipur a peaceful and harmonious State on this occasion," he urged.
